My Secret

Grew up hard and grew up sad, Broke-down momma and drunken dad
Saw things a boy should never ever see, In that trailer park reality
School girls didn’t do it for me, But that wasn’t the case with the faculty
Because, what I wanted, I was afraid to say, But I’d do anything to have my way!!!

I had a secret, I didn’t understand…I had a secret, I wanted to be a man…
I had a secret, I’d do anything…I had a secret, To get my soul to sing…

Worried people’d think it was a little strange.  A boy craving women of a certain age…
Days of Wine and Roses, I’d never heard.  But, I just read, To Kill A Mocking Bird…
The fact is, I had certain needs.  That gave birth, to very certain deeds…
Like a serial killer, hunting all over town.  I prayed a middle aged woman would take me down…

I had a secret, I didn’t understand…I had a secret, I wanted to be a man…
I had a secret, I’d do anything…I had a secret, To get my soul to sing…

So, I never quit the game of hide and seek.  Until I found me a woman, weak…
I was 16, she was 35, and that was the day, my world came alive…
So once we started, I couldn’t stop.  Can’t believe some boys would call the cops?
Because, if the law asked me, I couldn’t say.  Who was the predator and who was the prey…

Tell me your secrets… I’m not proud I say…
Tell me your secrets… God seemed to stay outa’ the way…
Tell me your secrets… I wanted to know all she knew…
Tell me your secrets… So I’d be ready when I met you!!!

In me, she has a friend for life. Can’t believe I slept with another man’s wife…
He’d been gone a year, it didn’t feel like sin… So if I had the chance, I’d do it over again!!!!
She said, boy you give me, such a thrill.  So, when you talk about this, because you certainly will….
Please remember just what I said.  As you laid here and came with me in my bed…
Be Kind!!! Be Kind!!!

I had a secret, I didn’t understand…I had a secret, I wanted to be a man…
I had a secret, I’d do anything…I had a secret, To get my soul to sing…
